Ägnade halva natten i glada vänners lag över ett parti Republic of Rome (Avalon Hill). Som vanligt startade tärningsrullandet alldeles för sent och när "benen" väl är i rörelse är det svårt att sluta...

Early Republic scenariot slutade med följande poängfördelning (Influence):

1. Erik: 58
2. Mats: 41
3. Jonas: 31
4. Per: 12

Spelet svängde fram och tillbaka för Rom. Inledningsvis såg det mycket stabilt ut. Statens finanser enorma och ärkefienden Kartago kunde snabbt oskadliggöras i det första puniska kriget. Min faktion drabbades dock av motgångar redan från start då Cato den äldre gick och dog i den första Mortality Phase. Sedan tappade jag en senatorfamilj till Per och fick se mig kraftigt försvagad, både i influenser och ekonomiskt, under lång tid framöver.

Närapå halvvägs in i spelet förändrades världssituationen drastiskt när Makedonien och Illyrien anföll. Roms arméer drabbades av flera bakslag. Romkonsuln Junius (från min faktion) som skickats till Illyrien tillfågatogs och dödades! ! Samtidigt misslyckades Julius i kampanjen mot grekerna och förlorar halva sin armé. Oron och otåligheten (unrest) stiger snabbt i Rom...
